You Experienced a Lucid Dream; What Next?

First, what is a Lucid Dream?

Depending on which ancient culture you ask the answer will vary slightly, but in essence a Lucid Dream is not only the full awareness that one is in a dream but is also the door of opportunity to heal in your dream realm and having those actions take real time impact in your waking realm.
If you were to ask the ancient Mexhica people, they would have told you that once you master the technique of lucid dreaming you can begin altering the decisions not only of your dreaming life but of your waking life. This archaic technique was known as Nahualism
First, what is a “nahual”? This word is derived from the Nahuatl language & refers to an archaic body of knowledge. The origins lie with the Olmec, Chichimeca, and Teotihuacans. After them it was passed to the Xochicalcas and the Toltecs then to the people of Mexhica which are the people of the Aztec lineage. This then spread upward into the Utah region.
According to oral tradition, since there is very little information or resource out there recorded on true nahualism, the first dreamers, or nahuales, appeared in Teotihuacan about 50,000 years ago. They were known as “the people of the moon’s halo”
They believed that the Moon was the sister of the sun, and that her lunar tricks in the night were meant to teach humans to escape their own prison or lunacy. According to Nahual/Aztec tradition, before we were even born we were thought of mindfully and carefully by our Creator. We saw the cosmos as one giant flower, and each story we decide to write for ourselves adds to this blooming flower.
Nahualism was a way to rewrite the code of our very own realities with our free will.
Lucid dreaming is the only method in which we can achieve unity between our Nahual and Tonal; our waking with our sleeping worlds.

Once you have mastered beckoning this lucid state through breathing & eye techniques the main goal is to change your environment for the better. Lucid Dreams are a way for one to relive a trauma or lesson and apply a new lense and action to it thus changing our relationship with that pain once we awaken.
One should always say a prayer of protection over themselves before entering into this state
Affirmations and statements such as, “I am protected, I am safe, I am shielded and guarded by God.” allow us to enter our dreams with the utmost safety.
- Crystals that are helpful in rest and dreams: green calcite, selenite, clear quartz, twin quartz, obsidian. Place these on either your forehead, navel, sacrum, heart, or feet.
- When meditating with these imagine the energy of the crystal swirling in a counterclockwise motion and think of goodness, light and creation.
- The most helpful position to lie in to help bring about a lucid dream is on your back with your hands either to your side, fully above your head or over your navel and chest. Set a timer for 10-20 minutes.
- Once you are in this state with your crystals in place (optional) and eyes closed envision yourself lying there. See your lie there peacefully. Now wrap that energy starting at your feet all the way up your spine and into your head. This is creating a channel and also clearing a path for it.
If you remain clear, intentional and focused on pure energy you will begin to feel your spirit body and physical body separate. The prayer is intended to keep both bodies safe from negative entities that wish harm to us or wish to take in our energy as sustenance.
